Red Introduction Session
NEXT SESSION Saturday 31st October 2009
Outline
Starting at 10.30, the session begins with an outline of Moving Image capture and display on existing technologies (good and bad) to place Red in context. We then move on to where Red came from, the breakthroughs it has made in technology and how it happened. We will also discuss the potential issues and current limitations.
We have a brief overview of the camera layout and setup menus before getting into hands on with the camera itself, from putting the kit together, seting up a project and recording. We discuss extensively exposure and how to judge it correctly on Red.
This takes us into the lunch break, during which time the cameras are still available for hands-on.
The afternoon is spent looking at data backups, best practise, leading onto workflow in the edit all the way through to the options for final output and all the software tools available. We make use of our 2K projection room to see example footage.
After the formal side is done, you can choose to carry on working on the camera side or the workflow side.
The session is kept small, is £100 ex VAT and half is refundable against the cost of a Red camera hire from us. To guarantee a place you must pay over the phone when booking.
