The Sony HVR-Z1E HDV cameras shoot superb pictures that knock the socks off the PD170 in widescreen mode. And at similar hire prices. You can still shoot in DVCam mode if you want to, or shoot HDV and we can downconvert your footage to DVCam for your edit, saving your HDV rushes for a later day if more HD interest picks up in your project.
